We believe that every domestic animal deserves to be safe, loved and given the chance to find a home.
Yet shelters and rescue organizations face an overwhelming need every day. They provide food, medical care, shelter and love to animals who have been abandoned, neglected or simply left with nowhere else to go—and they cannot do it without support.
Well She Isn’t Records was created to help turn music into that support. By bringing artists, listeners and animal rescue together, we can use the music we create and the community surrounding it to raise money, awareness and opportunities for animals in need.
This isn’t a cause attached to the record label. It is one of the reasons the record label exists.

Where It Started
The animal-rescue side of Well She Isn’t Records began with a dog named Sam.
Sam was adopted from Abandoned Pet Rescue by Stratis Washburn, the lead singer of thE STiFF, and his wife Nicole. Through that connection, the band saw firsthand the work APR was doing and the difference one rescue organization could make in the life of an animal.
That inspired thE STiFF to begin donating the proceeds from our merchandise sales to APR. What started as one band selling CD’s, buttons and stickers for a cause quickly revealed a much bigger possibility.
If one independent band could use its music to help rescue animals, what could happen if we brought more artists, more releases, more shows and an entire music community into that mission?
That idea became Well She Isn’t Records: a nonprofit record label created to support independent music and turn its proceeds and reach into meaningful help for animal rescue.

Why It Matters
Frank and Ray
Ray is an 11-year-old senior dog who should be spending this chapter of his life in the comfort of a loving home.
Instead, someone stopped at a traffic light, opened the car door, pushed him out and drove away. Thankfully, a person in the car behind them saw what happened, rescued Ray before he had to spend any time alone on the street and brought him safely to Abandoned Pet Rescue.
Frank volunteers at APR every Thursday, and Ray and they have become very close through their weekly walks together. Ray is a sweet, loving dog who still has so much to give. He doesn’t need much—just someone willing to give him the safe, permanent home he deserves.
Ray’s story is heartbreaking, but it is also one of countless reminders of why animal-rescue organizations need our support. They step in when animals are abandoned, neglected or left with nowhere else to turn.
This is why the animal-rescue side of our mission matters. Behind every donation, every show and every record sold is the chance to help an animal like Ray find safety, love and a new beginning.
When Music Meets Rescue
Stormy
Earlier this year, we invited Abandoned Pet Rescue to bring some of its adoptable dogs to one of our shows. We wanted to introduce the music community to the animals our music is meant to help.
One of those dogs was Stormy.
That night, someone who came out for the music met Stormy and fell in love with her. A few weeks later, after the adoption process was completed, Stormy left APR and went home with her new family.
That moment showed us what can happen when music and animal rescue share the same space. A show can be more than entertainment. It can introduce an animal to the person who has been waiting to find them—and turn one night of music into the beginning of a new life.
Stormy’s adoption represents everything we hope to accomplish through Well She Isn’t Records: bringing artists, listeners and rescue organizations together to raise funds, create awareness and help more animals find the loving homes they deserve.
Sometimes music doesn’t just bring people together. Sometimes it helps bring a family together.

What began with one band donating its merchandise proceeds has grown into a much larger vision.
To the best of our knowledge, Well She Isn’t Records is the only nonprofit record label built around using independent music to help fund animal rescue. We want to bring more artists, releases, live shows and music lovers into the mission—turning every record sold, every shirt worn and every person reached into another opportunity to help.
We’ve already seen what can happen. thE STiFF has donated more than $1,000 to Abandoned Pet Rescue. Stormy met her forever family at one of our shows. And animals like Ray continue to remind us why there is so much more work to do.
Our goal is to take what started with one band and scale it into something capable of making a lasting difference. The louder the music becomes, the more animals we can help.
